PEERS® Social Skills Intensive for Teens

Help your teen strengthen social confidence and connection with our PEERS® Social Skills Intensive for Teens, a structured weekend workshop designed to teach adolescents the unspoken social rules that support successful friendships and positive peer interactions. Based on the evidence-based PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) model, this intensive provides teens with practical tools to navigate conversations, build friendships, and handle common social challenges.

Workshop Details

When: Saturday, April 11, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (lunch provided) 

Where: Nashville Neuropsychology & Family Services — 2200 21st Ave South, Suite 2200, Nashville, TN 37212

Who: Teens ages 12–17 who experience social challenges, including those with autism, ADHD, social anxiety, learning differences, or difficulty initiating and maintaining friendships.

Cost: $250 (cash, check, credit card, and CareCredit accepted)

An adult must remain on-site to accompany minors for the duration of the workshop.

Skills Teens Will Learn

Participants will learn and practice key social strategies, including:

  • Understanding the unspoken social rules of friendships

  • Conversation skills and how to keep interactions going

  • Assessing social interest and finding common ground with peers

  • Understanding facial expressions and body language

  • Planning and hosting successful get-togethers

  • Handling disagreements

How the Intensive Works

This interactive workshop teaches social skills through structured lessons, video modeling of real-world situations, guided role-plays, games, and opportunities to practice skills with peers in a supportive environment.

Parents receive social coaching handouts to continue practicing the unspoken social rules with their teens at home, helping reinforce the strategies learned during the workshop and supporting continued growth in everyday social situations.

Children’s Friendship Training Summer Camp

Set your child up for social success before the new school year with Children’s Friendship Training, a one-week, evidence-based summer camp designed to help elementary-aged children learn the unspoken social rules that support friendship, confidence, and connection. Through structured activities, guided practice, and real-time coaching, children learn practical skills for making and keeping friends in a supportive, engaging environment.

Camp Details

When: June 1–5, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Where: Nashville Neuropsychology & Family Services — 2200 21st Ave South, Suite 2200, Nashville, TN 37212

Who: Children ages 8–12 (rising 3rd–6th grade) who experience mild social challenges, including children with Level 1 autism, ADHD, learning differences, social anxiety, or difficulty initiating or maintaining friendships

Cost: $800 (Payment methods accepted: cash, check, credit card, and CareCredit). 

An adult must remain on-site during sessions.

  • Starting and maintaining conversations

  • Entering and joining group activities

  • Being a good sport and handling losing or rejection

  • Planning and having successful playdates

  • Responding appropriately to teasing and bullying

How the Camp Works

This highly interactive program teaches social skills through structured lessons on key friendship skills, instructor role-plays and guided practice, games and cooperative activities, real-time feedback and coaching from clinicians. Parents also receive coaching handouts and practical strategies to reinforce these skills at home and help children apply what they learn in real-world settings.
